Electrical Engineering Technology (ELET) Objectives:

To develop technical skills needed for professional positions in electrical, electronic, and related industries.

To educate the students in methods of analysis, including mathemateical and computational methods, needed to solve problems as electrical engineering technologists.

To prepare students for lifelong learning and successful professional careers.

To develop oral and written communication skills that allow graduates to present information effectively.

To instill an understanding of professional, ethical, and societal responsibilities.

Asmissions
Applications for admission are available in the Louisiana Tech University Barksdale Program office or on-line at http://www.latech.edu/admissions/undergrad_1.shtml.

Academics
The following grade point averages are required for graduation:
2.0 on all hours earned
2.0 on all electro-technology courses pursued

Residency
The residence requirement for this degree is 31 hours. Residency may be completed anytime during the last half of degree requirements.

Credit Through Previous Education and Training
Transfer Credit
Courses from other colleges and universities including the Community College of the Air Force will be reviewed on a course-by-course basis. All transferred courses must meet the requirements of ABET, SACS, the Louisiana higher education governing boards, Louisiana Tech University, and the demands of the ELET curriculum.

Correspondence Courses
No more than six hours of correspondence courses will be accepted for credit toward graduation. Only correspondence courses in the humanities and the social sciences will be accepted; correspondence courses in English will not be accepted. Before pursuing correspondence courses, students must obtain written approval from the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Credit Examinations
No more than 30 hours of credit may be granted for CLEP Subject Examinations and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs). Credit will not be granted for CLEP General Examinations.
